Our staff and Board of Directors share a collective passion for the mission of Cahoots Theatre and its ongoing evolution. We genuinely enjoy working together to envision the Cahoots of tomorrow, and to ensure the company's future and its resilience.
Our full-time team is tiny-but-mighty. Cahoots is co-led by Tanisha Taitt and Richard Chan. Taitt assumed the role of Artistic Director, succeeding Marjorie Chan, in October 2019. Chan joined as Managing Director in November 2025.
Cahoots is, however, far more than the people who comprise our staff. We could not do what we do without the magnificent facilitators, dramaturges and others whom we engage to run to our programs and to guide our incredible artists in the bringing of Cahoots programming to fruition. And the artists... the artists... they are the reason.

“This feels like a homecoming for me. Growing up, I often felt like an outsider
without a voice, but theatre gave me a chance to find my voice and express myself. I discovered
the joy of theatre in a high school drama class, then went on to study it in university. Yet after
graduating, I didn’t feel there was a place for me in it, so I went back to school for law and
business — you know, the “practical” thing to do. Now, after more than a decade of working in
law, I truly believe that I can find a home in theatre, especially at Cahoots. Looking ahead, my
hope for the future is to expand the impact of theatre for our audiences and communities in the
many years to come, and continue to champion stories that enlighten and reflect us.” - Richard Chan
The Cahoots Board of Directors is a passionate, knowledgeable and supportive cross-section of theatre creators, theatre academics and theatre lovers. They are responsible for the company's organizational governance and, in conjunction with company leadership, for its long-term strategic plan. The Board meets with the leadership team for regular meetings 8 times per year. They can be reached collectively at board@cahoots.ca.
